Mason Technologies Inc design team includes RCDD Specialist qualified designers, the BICSI industry recognized standard for systems design. The RCDD Specialist programs require the individual to undergo extensive training and examinations to ensure that only high quality candidates become registered experts in voice, data, video, audio and other low-voltage control. What is an RCDD?
RCDD – Registered Communications Distribution Designer. The RCDD Specialist program has been recognized internationally and industry-wide as the standard for superior design and expertise. BICSI offers several registration programs that aim to provide consumers and employers with the assurance that BICSI qualified individuals are proficient in their designated area.

BICSI’s benchmark certification is the Registered Communications Distribution Designer – RCDD. This qualification is based on international standards like EIA/TIA, IEEE and UL. RCDD’s are first-class infrastructure designers that are globally aware and specify standards-based rather than vendor-based designs.

RCDD’s are considered to be the industry’s elite because passing the RCDD exam is not easy (the average pass rate internationally is less than 50%) and not many RCDD candidates succeed. In fact, not many even qualify to take the exam, which requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of practical experience and both professional and personal references. RCDD candidates have to achieve a 78% mark on more than 20 core subjects in order to pass. The RCDD course is an intensive course that covers subjects such as:

• Project management
• Telecommunications administration
• Networking fundamentals
• Designing cabling distribution systems
• Industry Standards
• Electromagnetic compatibility
• Grounding and bonding
• Fire stopping, and much more

In order to keep their qualification, RCDD’s must also obtain 45 continuing education credits (CEC’s) every 3 years at BICSI approved technical seminars and courses.

RCDD's must demonstrate proficiency in the design, integration and implementation of telecommunications transport systems and related infrastructure components. RCDD's are tested on the contents of BICSI's world renowned TDMM – Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual. Currently there are only less than 7000 RCDD's around the world.The RCDD qualification is internationally recognized.

Members include cabling contractors, manufacturers, systems integrators, electrical contractors, end-users and other types of industry professionals.

The organization has its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, USA and serves over 25000 members and installers in more than 110 countries around the world by providing high quality technical training and publications, conferences, professional registrations and resources for professionals involved in the design and installation of low-voltage distribution systems in commercial and residential buildings as well as outside plant systems.
